39%

President Bush's approval rating is the lowest it has ever been. It's down to a beautiful 39%. It is such a shame that it took so long. It took a disastrous hurricane, god awful gas prices, and a Supreme Court nominee that even the Republicans hate. I don't understand why the American people are just waking up to the train wreck that has been this Presidency. It is scary because it appears to me that Americans (most, not all of course) like being blind to things. So long as there was a rich white man in power who will occasionally spit out the word "god," everything was right with the world. Am I wrong here? Please someone prove me wrong!

"So long as there was a rich white man in power who will occasionally spit out the word 'god,' everything was right with the world. Am I wrong here?"

Essentially the Bush administration has done nothing different lately; its antics have just been more widely reported. Even Fox News had some negative things to say in the days that followed Katrina. Since Bush was "elected," he has named inexperienced and inappropriate people to high offices but with the newest Supreme Court nominee, he made the mistake of choosing a close friend who is not only unqualified BUT also not very Conservative and therefore is facing the wrath of his people, his "base" if you will. No one raised an eyebrow when Bush named that worthless piece of crap to head FEMA because Conservatives didn't care and the media is so bored with Democrats putting up a fight, anything coming from the left was blown off.

Now on to gas prices… Yeah, I know Bush doesn't control gas prices outright but do you honestly think he cares if we have to put out more money for gas? He owned a freaking oil company. His close friends own oil companies. He is close friends with the Saudis and they have more oil than anyone else.

"And come on, we all know we invaded Iraq because of oil. Well, where is all that oil?"

He is perfectly happy to see you and me paying an arm and leg to get to work everyday. Everyone close with him is getting a least a small chunk of the record profits being reported by oil companies. And come on, we all know we invaded Iraq because of oil. Well, where is all that oil? Why do we not have it? I am against the war and all but come on, it's happening anyway so I want my 99 cents a gallon back because of it.

The response to Hurricane Katrina was nothing short of atrocious. I don't blame the Mayor of New Orleans like the Federal Government would like me to do because, last I checked, Mayors couldn't call in the National Guard. President Bush was slow to respond, pure and simple. Unfortunately this pure and simple mistake cost lives. Luckily they were mainly poor and minority lives and those people don't matter. I don't care if I get accused of being a crazy liberal for this but I have to agree with a certain famous rapper, President Bush doesn't care about black people. But I will take it a step further; he doesn't care about poor people more than he disregards about black people. He has f'ucked over the impoverished people of this country so much since he came to power; luckily this time the f'ucking over was visible and broadcast to America 24 hours a day for over two weeks (you know until we all got bored of it).

What this all boils down to is the media. The media decided it didn't like Bush so it started reporting things that have been happening for years. There is nothing new here. Bush has been semi-retarded this whole time, he didn't suffer some sudden brain injury that rendered him incapable of making a good decision, forming complete and comprehensible sentences, or caring for people who earn less than $75,000 a year. He's always been that way. Unfortunately, Americans are completely subject to what is fed to them by the all powerful TV.

"If all the news agencies told us Communism were good then by golly we'd all be Communist."

If all the news agencies told us Communism were good then by golly we'd all be Communist. It makes me very sad to see that only a small percentage of people in this country think for themselves. I have said this over and over again but I will say it again: until our media actually becomes completely unbiased, politics and thought patterns of the public will be dictated by the corporate media. See, even when the media works in my favor I complain about it so don't say I am biased. Now I have to go watch FOX News, I am feeling a bit too free-thinking.
