Millennium
"Quiet," they say directly into my ears"listen to its approach."
And I do, and I see that it is nothing like I imagined
the colors are more luminous
this brilliance drives me to tears
we live for the things we have yet to know
"Silently," they say directly into my ears
"its knowledge lies in silence."
And I know they speak the truth, for they are far wiser than I
they can touch the things just out of my grasp
and I scream for my desire
I use up my lungs coveting what belongs to them
"Shame," they say directly into my ears
"you have broken the silence."
But they won't listen! So I pick up my head
from under their heavy, sorrow ridden bodies
and throw down the idols which have driven my madness
deep into the craters of my mind
and scream, "Wonder!" until my voice gives out
and silence reigns once again.
